A new method for synthesizing multiple-period adaptive-repetitive controllers and its application to the control of hard disk drives

چکیده
This paper introduces a new method for synthesizing multiple-period repetitive controllers. The main innovations in the synthesis procedure presented in this article are two. The first one is that this technique yields a solution compatible with the integration of the computed multiple-period repetitive controller into a minimum-variance adaptive control scheme. The second innovation is that the solution is periodrecursive, reducing the complexity of controller synthesis considerably when compared with other methods available in the literature. To exemplify the synthesis procedure, a multiple-period repetitive controller is designed and integrated into an adaptive–repetitive control scheme used in the trackfollowing control of a commercial hard disk drive. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the presented approach. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Adaptive Repetitive Control Using a Modified Filtered-x Lms Algorithm
In this paper we develop a modified filtered-x least mean squares (MFX-LMS) method to synthesis an adaptive repetitive controller for rejecting periodic disturbances at selective frequencies. We show how a MFX-LMS algorithm can be utilized when the reference signal is deterministic and periodic. A new adaptive step size is proposed with the motivation to improve the convergence rate of the MFX-...
متن کاملAdaptive control for a class of nonlinear systems and application to hard disk drives
In this paper, an adaptive controller is investigated for a class of uncertain single-input-single-output nonlinear systems preceded by an unknown backlash-type hysteresis nonlinearity, which is modeled by a differential equation. Backstepping design procedure is employed to construct the control input and adaptation laws. A new algorithm is designed to reduce the computational burden compared ...

This paper presents a new adaptive Sliding-Mode flux observer for speed sensorless and rotor flux control of three-phase induction motor (IM) drives. The motor drive is supplied by a three-level space vector modulation (SVM) inverter. Considering the three-phase IM Equations in a stator stationary two axis reference frame, using the partial feedback linearization control and Sliding-Mode (SM) c...
متن کاملRro Compensation of Hard Disk Drives with Multirate Repetitive Ptc
In this paper, novel repetitive controllers are proposed based on perfect tracking control (PTC) in order to reject high-order repeatable runout (RRO) of hard disk drives. First, the feedback approach of the repetitive PTC (RPTC) is developed with internal model of periodic disturbance. Although this method has performance robustness against small plant variation, the internal model worsens the...
متن کاملApplication to Adaptive Control to Synchronous Machine Excitation
Self-tuning adaptive control technique has the advantage of being able to track the system operating conditions so that satisfactory control action can always be produced. Self-tuning algorithms can be implemented easily. Because the power systems are usually time varying non-linear systems and their parameters vary, adaptive controllers are very suitable for power systems. Characteristics of a...
